Dow Chemical Co.'s plan to clean up our river seems clear: They hope to delay and deny until the next glacier slides through. That should scour their dioxin into the ocean.

Dow is bent on resisting a meaningful cleanup.

It's time for the Department of Environmental Quality and its staff to stiffen its back against the powerful influence of pro-contamination forces.

Dow's influence over the state is completely disproportionate to the intellectual weight of its arguments.
