The MDN's position that
dioxin data on individual
land parcels should be
confidential simply is
wrong. The agencies charged
with cleaning up
environmental contamination
must be afforded the fullest
cooperation in terms of
information in order for
them to succeed. Concern
with regard to property
values is misguided; sellers
already are required by law
to disclose contamination
and other known defects in
property available for sale.
